BMADD: Black Males Against our Defamation and Demise

Our organization was established in March 2012, inspired by the story of 17 year old Trayvon Martin. BMADD is dedicated to addressing and resolving criminializing, mistreating, misrepresenting, under representing, stereotyping and killing of unarmed Black men of African descent.

 Our Goals & Objectives

To produce educational programs on media literacy, cultural literacy and competency, violence prevention, conflict resolution, criminal justice and behavioral responsibility

To advocate for and ensure fair, accurate and affirming representation of diverse African American men in media, education and public spaces as a means of eliminating: 1) premature death, murder and harassment by law enforcement and citizens alike; 2) academic and employment inequity; 3) barriers to general well-being and discrimination based on being African American and male.
